We make every effort to reduce energy consumption. Offsetting our energy use is the second important step in reducing the adverse effects of our actions on the environment.

Improving Energy Efficiency

We are a member of Energy Star® for Small Business, a voluntary EPA program that has helped us to implement energy saving practices and lower our energy demand. We strongly recommend this program to businesses large and small who are looking to reduce costs and be more responsible about energy use.

Choosing Green Power

Our local energy provider cannot supply green power, so we've been purchasing Green Tags since 2003. This year, we are offsetting 100% of our C02 emissions from office heating and electricity, as well as business travel, with renewable energy. To accomplish this, we participate in Native Energy's CoolBusiness program. As a CoolBusinesssm participant, we are helping to finance the construction of the farm methane generator currently under development at the Schrack family dairy farm in Loganton, PA. Because we offset 100% of our annual fossil-fuel electricity, we have been honored as a member of EPA’s Green Power Partnership every year since 2003.
