Rivanna adds Richlite®FSC™ products to standard product offering

Charlottesville, VA (August 20, 2010) - Rivanna Natural Designs, Inc. announced today that the company has selected Richlite® as the surface material for its celebrated Renewal line of eco-friendly plaques.

“In recent years we have tested a wide variety of materials for use in our award designs,” said Kristina Constantine, Principal Designer at Rivanna. “As a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified chain-of-custody provider, we are thrilled to have found an FSC-certified material with a contemporary appeal, an elegant matte surface, and strong environmental attributes. We are confident our clients will appreciate this aesthetic and physical improvement to our Renewal plaques.”

“We are honored to be selected as Rivanna’s surface material for their Renewal line of eco-friendly plaques,” said Don Atkinson at Richlite. “We are proud to partner up with innovative companies like Rivanna Designs who continue to push sustainable design.”

Richlite®FSC™ Black Diamond is 30% rapidly renewable eucalyptus and 70% pine. All Richlite materials are made either with FSC-certified or postconsumer recycled paper. In addition, Richlite products are GREENGUARD® certified for indoor use in residential, school, and institutional environments and contribute to LEED points. The surfaces are produced using an innovative and efficient WE™ (Waste-to-Energy) manufacturing system that captures toxins and re-circulates heat to greatly minimize fuel consumption, pollution, and carbon emissions.

Rivanna has been making custom awards with Richlite Black Diamond for the past year. The company plans to introduce to Richlite in its Renewal plaque line in September 2010.
